Treatments to Promote Optimal Positioning of the Baby

DSCF4941

Breech, transverse, and oblique positions are commonly addressed during the later stages of pregnancy between 34-37 weeks.

A baby will find the best position given the space available to them. By creating a more ideal environment using techniques that relax and balance the pelvis, we can help create more room for baby to find its best birth position.  Many studies support the use of moxibustion to encourage optimal fetal positioning.  Warming and nourishing the body using acupuncture, bodywork, and moxibustion helps to reduce stagnation and can result in very positive outcomes.

Birth Preparation

Birth Preparation treatments begin around 36-37 weeks, consisting of weekly treatments until labor begins.

Pre-birth treatments are tailored to each woman’s specific needs to help her prepare for childbirth, encourage optimal positioning of baby, and aid in the ripening of the cervix, nourishment of tissues, and building energy of the mother.

We focus on correcting imbalances to reduce anxiety and discomfort, while promoting restful sleep and emotional well-being, to help mothers avoid unnecessary medical interventions, including induction and cesarean section.

Postpartum Recovery: The Golden MonthDSCF4857

The first month after childbirth is a crucial time during which a mother needs to rest and replenish so she can adequately recover and bond with her baby.  When a woman is cared for properly, chronic conditions may be prevented or resolved.

Postpartum Recovery treatments help provide nourishment and supplement the loss of qi and blood following childbirth and help bring the body back to its pre-pregnancy form.  Building qi and blood is useful for increasing milk supply, reducing emotional imbalance, and encouraging greater energy and vitality.

We encourage all new moms to consider a Mother Warming treatment using moxibustion early in their Golden Month to tonify and restore the uterus.
